Beasts of the Southern Wild

Every year when Oscar nominations are released I like to watch the movies listed for best picture; since I have a blog this time around I want to write mini reviews for each one when I get around to it! I hope you enjoy reading my point of view, I don't go too much into the film, just a little background information and my opinion of its meaning and how it made me feel!

Beasts of the Southern Wild:
It was a good movie, not as great as Oprah exclaimed it would be, but it was good. It’s definitely one of those artsy films filled with abstract symbolism that somehow all plugs into convey a deep story. I personally find movies filmed like this one a little pretentious but aside from that, it initially told a great story. It showcased how connected people are to their surroundings as the main characters go through the struggle of maintaining a simple lifestyle after a storm washes away their secluded little town. It really shows how much love and pride comes from where you’re from and your culture. Also, the ending dialogue really got to me... I give it 8.3 on a scale from 1-10.

My Life

I'm really upset right now because I'm beginning to notice how lonely I really am. I really want friends. I know being awkward and friendless is really popular and cool and some type of joke on the internet but it's real for me. And when I tell you guys I only have 2 friends not including my boyfriend that I actually see in person, i'm not joking. It sucks so much, I want to laugh and watch movies with people, I want to talk to someone.

Anyways enjoy this video and song I really like it, I hope you do too, whoever reads my blog...

Being Positive

So my job interview was today and can confidently say I was the best-dressed there lol. As far as my interview went well I can say I’d be a little surprised if I got the job; but good practice! And I’m glad I got to see my friend from high school she’s super sweet and cool (she works at the store). The biggest problem I have is not smiling when I answer my questions, and my voice isn't very girly... But being the positive person that I am (i'm being sarcastic) I may have just gotten the job guys!

Off topic: I really liked how my makeup looked today because I had a really bad break out 2 weeks ago and left a dark spot on the right side of my cheek )-: you can't see it in these photos but I covered it pretty well for my interview.

I don't look very positive in these photos...

Moving Along

I have a job interview at Gap this coming Tuesday, I really hope I get it!  I’ve had a previous group interview there and I suppose I didn’t do well because I didn’t get the job lol. It sucks that most jobs I apply for end up holding a group interview because I'm really bad at them. One thing I really hate about group interviews is that they (managers) usually want their applicants to ‘jump in’ and answer questions and it ends up all awkward and nerve wrecking. I really hate cutting people off but what I hate more is when other people cut me off and I’m always the polite one to let others go before me. I usually end up the last person answering questions and it doesn’t make me look very good. Anyways, I’m going to swallow my pride and cut people off this time while simultaneously trying not to look like a douchebag. I have high hopes this time around because last time I had braces and this time I've got a clear retainer baby awe yeah and I'm smarter than the normal citizen -as far as Las Vegas goes ahhahahhaa.

NYE

Although I live in Las Vegas I didn’t do what a lot of people do when they get to spend New Years Eve here. Instead I stayed home and climbed on the roof to watch the fireworks go off. I have an alright view of the strip (other than my neighbors trees who decided to block my view) because I live 7 minutes away; and regardless of that I still managed to take the shittiest photos. Enjoy!

The Actual Killers Show

The Killers show was absolutely amazing! I had a great spot in the crowd and I was close enough to see all the details on the band members faces. This was the first concert I’ve been to where there were no flaws; I mean they did such a great job and I was so content that I even forgot about how much I wanted them to play ‘All These Things That I’ve Done,’ which they did! They took turns playing an equal amount of new and old stuff, which was really great for someone like me who was only familiar with songs from Sam’s Town and Hot Fuss. They shot out confetti on their last song in the shapes of thunderbolts for their new album Battle Born and some in the shape of a K in their signature font, that I managed to take home with me teehee. The show ended really late, I got home at 2 am! Over all it was all really magical! I would have to say The Killers over all gave me this sense of gratitude for Las Vegas; it’s nice to know something great came out from here, and it made me feel proud :’-)

These photos really don't do my spot justice because Brandon Flowers looks tiny, but he was literally only 3 to 4 yards away!
